YAPI Features That Update the Commlog

Several of YAPI's features interact with a patient's Commlog, documenting activity for patient forms, online scheduling, and YAPI Pay.  Your patient's Commlog entries will vary based on patient activity and which of these YAPI features your office is using.

Patient Form Updates

Any time a form with patient information is imported into Open Dental an entry is made in the Commlog to note this activity:

Smart Scheduling

Any time a patient books an appointment via Smart Scheduling, YAPI updates their Commlog to note this activity. You can recognize automated entries like this by the use of "[YAPI-BOT]" in the Description column:

YAPI Pay

If your practice uses YAPI Pay, YAPI updates a patient's Commlog when a payment request is created, cancelled, or voided and when a payment is received or refunded. The Note column in the Commlog shows the detail associated with each activity including the date, time, amount, and any staff member associated with the activity (for example, who sent a request to the patient):

Note: If your server is ever offline, YAPI still captures payment activity and updates Patient Notes once your server is back online.
