Merge Tags for Email Templates

Merge Tags are context-sensitive codes that auto-populate with patient and practice information. This content can be used in both documents and in email/mobile templates to allow for information to automatically generate to personalize content for the patient.

Merge tags in this article apply only to messages sent in the Practice Dashboard and not via the Practice Online Portal (POP).

Merge tags can be added to email templates by editing the enhanced template within Manage Documents and Templates. This can be done by including the tag in a Body Text of a template.

Be aware that certain merge tags will only work in their email type. For example, attempting to send a manual email with patient-related merge tags will not function. Reference each section to confirm which merge tag works for each email type.

Automated Email

Automated Emails are email messages that send out after verifying the appointment data exist in the appointment book and will be sent out under the rules set in the Reminders and Recall settings.

Mail Blast

Mail Blasts are emails designed to be sent to either all or a select group of patients. This can be done by using the fields within the Mail Blast window or using Interest Lists. These lists can be created by forming Interest Lists from within the Practice Management Software.

Manually Sending Email

Manual Emails are emails that will be sent out to patients from within the Patient Finder or the Communication Tower. This can be used to manually send content that still references the patient information found from the Practice Management Software.

Reminder Email Via Patient Finder

Reminder Email via Patient Finder works by sending appointment templates via the Patient Finder.
