Introduction to the Only on Business Days Setting

YAPI gives you the flexibility of sending appointment reminders any day of the week or only on business days, whichever works best for you and your patients.  YAPI is automatically set up to send reminders every day, but you can set text reminders to send only on business days.

How Only on Business Days Works

Enabling the Only on Business Days setting for Appointment Reminders forces text reminders  scheduled to be sent on any non-business day to send on the previous business day.

For example, without this setting enabled, if your office is closed on Saturdays and Sundays and your patient has an appointment on Monday, a 1-day reminder would send on Sunday.  With Only on Business Days turned on, the reminder sends out Friday instead:

YAPI still counts non-business days for all reminders but it takes reminders meant to be sent on non-business days and just sends them out sooner.

What If Both Reminders Are Queued Up for the Same Day?

Depending on your settings, when using Only on Business Days, two reminders could get queued up to send on the same day.  Luckily, YAPI detects this and only sends out one!

What If I Still Need Patients to Get Reminders Sooner?

If you're concerned that your patients aren't getting their reminders in time to reschedule, even with Only on Business Days enabled, we recommend adjusting your reminder settings. Instead of setting reminder intervals like these...
