Adding a Smart Scheduling Widget to Your Practice Website
With Smart Scheduling, you can add a widget to you practice's website so patients can click a button and schedule with an appointment in just a couple of clicks. Follow the directions below to access the code you'll need; then, add the code to your website or send it to your web developer to add it for you.
Note: If your practice has multiple locations that use YAPI's Smart Scheduling and only maintain one practice website for all of them, you must schedule an appointment with a YAPI representative to configure your multi-location widget before proceeding.

How the Smart Scheduling Widget Works
YAPI's Smart Scheduling Widget allows patients to book an appointment on your practice website with just a couple of clicks. To add the widget, you or your web developer just need to add a block of code to the HTML of your site.
Accessing the Widget Code
-
Log into YAPI's Practice Online Portal (POP).
-
On the menu on the left, click Smart Scheduling, then select Settings.
-
On the Smart Scheduling Settings page, scroll down to the bottom and click the General Settings button.
-
In General Settings, scroll down to the New Patients section, then click Generate Widget.
Tip: If you don't see this button in the New Patients section, toggle Allow new patient to schedule online to the right.
-
In the Generate Widget window that pops up, select where you want the widget button to appear on your practice's website (and where it will pop up): Bottom Left, Bottom Right, or Top.
-
Select and copy the entire code in the Script window.
Applying the Widget Code to Your Website
If a web developer manages your website for you:
- Paste this code into an email to your web developer so they can add it to your practice's site.
- Let them know that if your website uses any sort of caching function, they need to clear the cache (they'll know what this means).
If you manage your own practice website:
- Paste the code to either the Header or Footer section within the HTML of your website.
- If your website uses any sort of caching function, either on your host server or via a third party plugin, clear the cache.
