Setting Up Recall in Open Dental
YAPI integrates directly with Open Dental to manage automated Recall Reminders, leaving you more time to care for your patients. Before setting up your Recall Reminders in YAPI, though, you'll want to make sure recall is properly configured in Open Dental first.
Most practices already have this set up but if you haven't done so, use the instructions below so you'll be ready for Setting Up Recall Reminders in YAPI.

Accessing Recall Types in Open Dental

With Open Dental open, click Setup in the top toolbar.

Select Appointments, then Recall Types.
Editing an Existing Recall Type

In the Recall Types window, double-click the Recall Type you want to edit. (We recommend paying the closest attention to Prophy and Perio, since those are the most popular care types we see practices using with YAPI).

In the Edit Recall Type window that pops up, change any information you need to, making sure to include a Description, Default Interval, and Procedures on Appointment.
Adding a New Recall Type

In the Recall Types window, click Add.

In the Edit Recall Type window that pops up, fill in all the necessary information for your Recall Type, making sure to include a Description, Procedures that trigger this recall type, Default Interval, Time Pattern, and Procedures on Appointment.
