Introduction to Menus in the iPad App Dashboard

If you want to stay as mobile as possible in your practice, you can use YAPI's iPad app to perform many of the same functions that you would on the desktop Dashboard.  We've added most of these commands into tap-and-hold menus to keep them out of view when you're not using them.

Below, you'll learn what commands are available from the iPad app's Dashboard and how to access them.

Patient Menu

From the iPad app Dashboard, tap and hold on the patient's avatar (the image of a person) to access the Patient Menu:

Details.PNG

Details - Displays patient contact and demographic details like age, gender, birthdate, phone number, address, and email.  For this option to appear in the menu, Show Patient Information must be enabled in the app's Configuration section.

Ready.PNG

Ready - Sets the patient as Ready in the iPad app and on the desktop Dashboard and changes the patient avatar to color. This appears in the menu only when a patient is in the Check-In Area.

Not_Ready.PNG

Not Ready - Sets a Ready patient to Not Ready in the iPad app and on the desktop Dashboard and changes the patient avatar back to gray. This appears in the menu only when a patient is in the Check-In Area.

Checkout.PNG

Checkout - Moves the patient from their operatory to the Check-Out Area in the iPad app and on the desktop Dashboard and opens the patient's Digital Routing Slip. This appears in the menu only when a patient is in an operatory.

Dismiss.PNG

Dismiss - Opens the patient's Digital Routing Slip for review and dismisses them from the Check-Out Area both in the iPad app and on the desktop Dashboard. This appears in the menu only when a patient is in the Check-Out Area.

Take_Photo.PNG

Take Photo - Opens the iPad's camera to take a Patient Photo.  This photo then becomes the patient's photo in YAPI and in Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft.

Reveal_Photo.PNG

Reveal Photo - Shows the patient's photo.

Select_Family.PNG

Select Family - Opens Family Mode so you can select the required forms for multiple family members and they can be completed for the whole family at once.

Patient Alert Menu

From the iPad app Dashboard, tap and hold on the patient's alerts (the set of icons to the right of the patient's name) to access the Patient Alerts Menu:

New_Patient_Alert.PNG

New Patient Alert - Opens a pop-up to add a Patient Alert to the patient such as Patient has pain Patient_Has_Pain.PNG, Patient is nervous Patient_Is_Nervous.PNG, or Patient is upset  Patient_Is_Upset.PNG.

View_Patient_Alerts.PNG

View Patient Alerts - Opens a detailed list of the patient's current Patient Alerts.

Forms Menu

From the iPad app Dashboard, tap and hold on the clipboard icon  to access the Forms Menu:

Sign_Document.PNG

Sign Document - Opens the Forms and Documents page to assign forms to a patient, the same function as swiping across on the patient.

Pending_Documents.PNG

Pending Documents - Opens a page with the pending documents that have been pre-assigned to a patient. This appears in the menu only when a patient has had forms pre-assigned to them in the Daily Huddle or by your Recurring Forms setup.

Add_From_Camera.PNG

Add From Camera - Opens the iPad's camera to take a photo of a patient's ID or any other hard-copy paperwork they've brought in.  This photo can then be filed into Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft as you would an iPad form.

Add_From_Camera_Roll.PNG

Add From Camera Roll - Opens the iPad's camera roll to import a photo of a patient's ID or any other hard-copy paperwork that you've saved in your iPad's photo gallery.  This photo can then be filed into Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft as you would an iPad form.

Room/Area Menu

From the iPad app Dashboard, tap and hold on the patient's name to access the Room/Area Menu for the room that that the patient is in (for example the Check-In Area, Check-Out Area or an operatory):

Schedule.PNG

Schedule - Opens the a list of patient appointments for the day, listed in chronological order. This appears in the menu only when the menu is opened on a patient in the Check-In Area.

Summon.PNG

Summon - Opens a pop-up to select a provider and summon them to the room a patient is in. This sends an in-office message in the provider's color to all YAPI workstations, summoning them to the room.

Message.PNG

Message - Opens a pop-up to type and send an in-office message message the room a patient is in. 

New_Alert_in_Area.PNG

New Alert in Check-in Area/Check-Out Area - Creates a red alert notifying all YAPI workstations that help is needed in the Check-In or Check-Out Area. This appears in the menu only when the menu is opened in the Check-In or Check-Out Areas.

New_Alert_in_Op.PNG

New Alert in Op - Opens a pop-up to select and set an Operatory Alert, requesting assistance in the patient's operatory.  This sends an operatory alert message to all YAPI workstations, makes the operatory in the desktop Dashboard flash, and makes the patient's avatar shake on the iPad Dashboard.  This appears in the menu only when the menu is opened in an operatory.
