YAPI has three separate applications - the desktop Dashboard, the iPad app, and the Practice Online Portal (POP) - and each has its own password rules. Use the guide below to find directions for recovering lost passwords or updating your password in each part of YAPI.

Changing Your YAPI Dashboard Password
When our Technical Support team installs YAPI, your installer sets a default YAPI password (also known as your Dashboard password or administrative password) and shares it with you. If you need to set your own password or change your password at any point, follow the steps below:
In the YAPI Dashboard, click Setup & Manage and select Global Setup.
Enter your current YAPI password and click OK.
In the window that pops up, navigate to the Options tab.
In the pink Administrator Password section, remove the contents of the Password and Confirm Password boxes and replace with your own password:
Click Save, then OK. You do not need to restart your workstations.
Resetting a Lost Password
If you don't know the password that your installer set up for you or don't remember the Dashboard password that you set, you need to contact our Customer Support team so they can reset it for you.
Note: The Request a Temporary Password option under Tools > Administrative Tools is no longer supported.
Changing YAPI iPad App Password
With the YAPI app open on your iPad, tap Configuration on the bottom right.
Enter your current password.
Scroll down to the Security and Privacy section.
In the box next to YAPI Password on This Device, delete the current password and type in your new password.
Tap on Save, then tap OK.
Force quit the YAPI app and reopen it.
- Optional: Repeat for each iPad at your practice.
Resetting a Lost iPad App Password
To protect your patient's personal information, the YAPI iPad App doesn't have a password retrieval option. If you forget your password, you need to delete the app and re-download it from the App Store. Then, use the instructions in Installing & Connecting YAPI on an iPad to set up the app.
Practice Online Portal (POP)
Resetting Your POP Password
Whether you've forgotten your password to POP or just want to change it:
Navigate to the POP login page and click Don't remember your password?
Enter the email address you use to sign into POP and click Send Email:
Go to your email inbox and find the email we sent with the subject “YAPI Online Portal Password Reset." Then, click the link within the email:
Tip: If you don’t see the email in your inbox, check your junk and spam folders or any other filtered folders (for example, if you use Gmail, it might be in the Social or Promotions tabs).
Enter your new password twice and then click the arrow button:
Sign into POP with your updated password.
