Saving Patient Routing Slip Notes Outside of YAPI

If you want to keep a permanent record of the notes your team made on patients' Routing Slips, you can easily paste the contents of each patient's Routing Slip anywhere on your computer once you dismiss them from the Dashboard. (We recommend their patient or appointment notes in Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft.)  To do so, follow the instructions below.

Tip: You can also view past patient Routing Slips in your Daily Activity Report, which are available by default for 30 days.

Pasting the Contents of Patient Routing Slips

When you dismiss a patient from the Dashboard, the contents of their Routing Slip are automatically copied to your computer's Clipboard in the background.  (You don't see this step; it just happens automatically!) Once the patient is dismissed, you can then right-click and paste these notes anywhere you want, like their appointment notes or patient notes in Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft:


Tip: The example above uses the Dentrix Patient Notes as an example, but you can paste the contents of a patient's Routing Slip anywhere you want on your computer. As long as you can right-click and select Paste, you can paste the notes there.

To paste the contents of your patient's Routing Slip into your practice management software to save for later viewing:

  1. Dismiss the patient from the YAPI Dashboard once their visit is complete.


  2. Before dismissing any other patient, open Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft

  3. Open the Appointment Notes or Patient Notes where you want to paste the contents of the Routing Slip.

  4. Right-click in the note space and select Paste.
