Changing Timeout Settings for the Check-In and Check-Out Areas

By default, patients in the Dashboard's Check-In and Check-Out Areas "time out" after 10 minutes, causing their avatars to flash so you know they've been waiting a long time. If it works better for your practice, you can adjust these set amounts of time by follow the directions below.

Changing Timeout Settings

  1. From the YAPI Dashboard, click Setup and Manage Setup_and_Manage.png and select Global Setup.

  2. When prompted, enter your YAPI password and click OK.

  3. In the Global Setup window that appears, navigate to the Options tab:

  4. To change your timeout settings:

    • For the Check-In Area: In the tan Check-in section, locate the Timeout setting and change the number of minutes.

      Optional: In the Wait time is time dropdown menu, you can also select what point YAPI starts counting this time from - since check-in or since appointment time:

    • For the Check-Out Area: In the dark tan Check-out section, locate the Timeout setting and change the number of minutes:

    Tip: To set YAPI so patients never time out and flash, set Timeout to 9999 minutes:

  5. Click Save, then OK.
