Enabling Your Automated New Patient Welcome Email

When you add a patient to your practice management software (Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft), YAPI can automatically send them an email welcoming them to your practice that includes a link to their new patient forms.  The email template comes pre-loaded with YAPI and includes the new patient paperwork links your installer added; all you need to do is enable this automation using steps below.

Enabling the New Patient Welcome Email

To enable your automated new patient welcome in YAPI: 


  1. From the YAPI Dashboard, click Setup and Manage Setup_and_Manage.png and select Global Setup.

  2. When prompted, enter your YAPI password and click OK.

  3. In the Global Setup window that pops up, navigate to the Automation tab and locate the purple New Patient Welcome section:


  4. Select the Email checkbox.  If you have a pediatric practice and also keep profiles for patients' parents in your Open Dental, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft, also select the Send Only to Patients checkbox.  (This sends welcome emails only to the patient and prevents parents from getting multiple copies of the welcome email.)

  5. Next to Template, click the double arrow button >> and select the template called "GT - New Patient Welcome with Documents Link General."  Then click Select:


  6. Click Save, then OK.
