Adding Contacts to YAPI
When texting and emailing patients, YAPI automatically pulls patient contact information from Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft. If you need to send a message to a non-patient like a colleague, a hospital, or a vendor, though, you can add them to your Contacts list so you can communicate with them through YAPI. Follow the instructions below to add or delete an individual from your list of contacts in YAPI.
Tip: Once you've added someone to your Contacts list, you can email or text them using the steps in Sending Individual Emails from the Dashboard and Sending Individual Texts from the Dashboard.

Adding Individual Contacts
To add a contact to YAPI:
-
From the YAPI Dashboard, click Setup and Manage and select Manage Contacts.
-
When prompted, enter your YAPI password and click OK.
-
In the Contacts window that pops up, click Add:
Warning! Ignore the Import option in this window. Importing multiple contacts using a .vcf file is no longer a supported feature in YAPI and can remove existing contact information or fail to import all contact information from the file. Always import your contacts individually as shown.
-
Enter the contact's information and click Save.
Note: Once added, contacts aren't editable. To change a contact, you must delete the existing one and add the contact again with your new information.
Deleting a Contact

-
When prompted, enter your YAPI password and click OK.
