Using Phone Assistant to Make a Call
If you have Phone Assistant installed on your workstation, you can call a patient and automatically bring up their information in a Phone Assistant pop-up, just like when they call you! To learn how to make a call using YAPI, follow the steps below.
Important! To call out, you must have Phone Assistant installed on your workstation with Dial Out configured. If you're not sure whether Dial Out is configured, follow Steps 5-7 of Enabling Phone Assistant on Your Workstation. If your practice doesn't have Phone Assistant installed, contact your Customer Success Manager to schedule an installation.

Calling from the Patient Finder
-
From the YAPI Dashboard, click Patients
and select Patient Finder.
-
Search for the patient in the Patient Finder window by their last name, email address, birthdate, age and gender, Interest List, or appointment date.
-
Locate them in your search results and click their phone number in the Phone column (not the mobile column). Depending on which number you want to call, select Call Home or Call Mobile.

When the phone at your workstation starts ringing, pick it up. This initiates the call to your patient and automatically pulls up their information in the Phone Assistant pop-up.
Calling Using Hot Keys
You can also call any phone number that you can highlight with your mouse by pressing the hot key combination configured in your local Phone Assistant setup. To call out using hot keys:

With your mouse, highlight the number you want to call. You can do this anywhere on your computer that a number can be highlighted including phone numbers on websites, in emails, and in your practice management software. If you can highlight it, you can call it!
